Welcome back to the TS Studios London blog. This is our unofficial fashion and modelling blog. TS Studios is not a modelling agency. We are a fashion photography studio working with both professional and amateur models. There are a great number of modelling agencies that are constantly on the lookout for new talent, and you should never find yourself short of work in the capital.

Headed by a top-notch team of creatives, they are here to give you a real experience in front of the Camera. Our international team of photographers work from our Angel Studios and is determined to start your modelling journey off with a bang in 2024.  Models Review - How are they getting on?

At TS Studios we are not a modelling or recruitment agency. We are a fashion photography studio specailising in providing photoshoots for aspiring male models, female models, child models and teen models. Kate Grant, a literal model of the fashion variety but also a trailblazing role model for anyone who fears their disability might prevent them from reaching their full potential.

The 23-year-old  made history as the first-ever model with Down’s Syndrome to be signed to a modelling agency in Northern Ireland after she recently inked a deal with ACA Models.

Her signing is no surprise given the success she has enjoyed over the past couple of years. Her rise to fame began in 2018, following an appearance on the BBC Two documentary Role Model which followed Grant in her pursuit of a career in modelling.

Next came the opportunity to represent Northern Ireland in the Ultimate Beauty of the World beauty pageant which she went on to win, aged only 19 at the time. Since then, Grant has walked the catwalk at London Fashion Week, spoken about her experience at the UN on more than one occasion and worked as a brand ambassador for Benefit Cosmetics.

Whenever I am online shopping, I scroll through pages and pages looking at bodies that don’t match mine — and never will. However, since all of the models’ bodies match, my first thought is that my body is the one that’s “wrong.” With more diversity in this industry, more and more people will feel represented and will feel like they “look like a model.”  As Rachel Wentworth states, “[We must normalize] body hair, cellulite, things that are part of [the] human experience but stigmatized by a culture that doesn’t care about health, mental or physical, but only about capitalism.”

However, since so many different body types exist, “inclusivity isn’t entirely possible,” Wentworth says. Wentworth says on inclusivity: “That word gets thrown around. Brands use it in a way that doesn’t ultimately feel sincere.” While it is unfortunate that not everyone can be represented, “showing the depth of the human race” should be a priority, according to Wentworth. Certain groups, specifically transgender people and people with disabilities, for example, are extremely underrepresented and should get a lot more space in the industry.
