Meta Gala Run-Down 

 As one of the biggest events in the fashion industry, the Met Gala always attracts attention from around the world. And in this years event, one celebrity who stole the show with her look was none other than Doja Cat. The Met Gala is popularly regarded as the world's most prestigious and glamorous fashion event and social gathering. Some say its just an excuse for fake posers to get together and share the limelight for no apparent reason, like Kim K, who does nothing when shes not being impregnated or making sex videos and Kanye west below who puts his name to clothes he doesn't design. 

Doja Cat singer, rapper, and songwriter, who has been  around for 5 minutes and is making waves in the music industry, made her Met Gala debut in style, dressed as Karl Lagerfelds cat, Choupette. She worked with her stylist for months trying to make her look as close to Lagerfeld's cat as possible. Doja Cat may have been dresssed up as a cat but she look stunning! On top of all of her beauty, Doja was dripped out in diamonds. Her most notable accessory was the million dollar diamond right in the middle of her forehead. 

Doja's look at the 2023 Met Gala was a perfect reflection of her bold and daring personality and a showcase of her unique style, making her stand out among the many other celebrities in attendance.  Making the most of your photoshoot

TS Studios have photography studios in London, Manchester and Birmingham. We work with models of all experience levels, from those just starting out to experienced models who come regularly to update their portfolio images. Our team are experienced at getting the most out of your shoot. Here are some tips from the photographers here to help you make the most of your fashion photography modelling photoshoot at TS Studios. With a growing stream of new products that need to be put online and content to be created for them, on model photography for your online store can be very demanding.

So when on set, knowing how to work with and pose your models means you will get the right shot easier - and then be able to move onto the next style or outfit faster. If your doing a fashion photography shoot, here are some tips to show off your products better. 

Have reference shots for examples of the look you want. If you want to achieve a specific look, have some images nearby that you can show to your model.  A style guide can also act as a reference manual if you already have one. If you have some photos of similar shots or ideas, this will help the photographer understand your ideas.

Use focal points to direct the your stare. If you want your model to look in a certain direction there are lots of tricks you can use. For example, you can use your hand - or even direct them to focus their attention on objects in the studio. You can use this technique to direct a model's stare and expression a lot easier than using vocal commands. As a model, you are modelling a look or a product, not your smile.

Use your hands to emphasize movement.   As a model, your pose can be static or dynamic, conveying movement or appearing motionless. This is shown mostly through the placement of the hands and feet.Knowing to move them in the outward position and one in front of another gives a feeling of walking toward the camera. To keep a more static pose, keep the feet at shoulder width and the hands by the side.

 Match the pose to the product. Your model’s pose needs to show the product off in the best light. If you’re shooting a top with a detailed print, it makes sense that your model’s hands shouldn’t cover the torso - otherwise shoppers might not be able to get the full picture. When modelling footwear; positioning each foot at a different angle also allows you to show off more of the shoe. You can also try crossing the legs at the heel to give an appealing look.

There is no one answer to the question of how to become a professional model, as everyone learns differently and at their own pace.

Some suggestions include following the latest fashion trends, practicing facial expressions and posing in front of a mirror, attending fashion events, keeping the portfolio up-to-date, one would firstly want to make sure they're on a certain diet, dedicated to staying in shape and looking amazing.

Additionally, it is important to be confident and versatile in order to be successful in this industry. Learn about the most important Fashion Model skills, how you can utilize them in the workplace, and what to list on your resume.

Fashion models display clothing and accessories for designers, retailers, and consumers. They typically work in runway shows, fashion shows, and photo shoots.

To be a successful fashion model, you need to have a good understanding of the fashion industry, as well as strong physical and social skills. If you’re interested in becoming a fashion model, learning about the necessary skills can help you decide if this is the right career for you.

Be positive 

A fashion model needs to be able to maintain a positive attitude throughout the duration of their work day. Howsever, it is worth noting that unless your parents put your photos online from the age of 8, your unlikely to ever get signed to a modelling agency.

This is especially true when working with clients, as models need to be friendly and approachable while maintaining professionalism. A model also needs to be able to remain calm in stressful situations, such as when they are unable to find an outfit or if they have to wait for other people to arrive at a shoot.

Versatility

the ability to adapt your skills and talents to different situations. Fashion models often need versatility because they may be asked to model a variety of clothing items, including shirts, pants, dresses, shoes and accessories.

For example, if you’re modeling swimwear, you might also need to show how the outfit looks when wet or dry. You can practice versatility by trying new activities and learning about other topics that relate to fashion.

Be Confident

an important skill for fashion models to have because it can help them feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Models with confidence may be able to pose naturally and make their own decisions about what looks best on them. Body Language

For example, if the clothing is meant to convey happiness or joy, the model needs to be able to smile naturally and make eye contact with the camera. Likewise, if the clothing is meant to convey sadness or anger, the model needs to be able to change their facial expression accordingly.

Flexibility

You have to tell your parents to be flexible. Put their day jobs to one side and focus on you. Fashion models often work with a variety of designers and brands, each of which may have different needs.

Flexibility is an important skill for fashion models to develop because it allows them to adapt quickly to new situations.

For example, if a designer asks the model to wear a dress that’s several sizes too small, they need to be flexible enough to try it on and adjust their body language to make the outfit look flattering.

Have a lot of Dedication

If you want to be a model, ask your parents to help you from when you start going to primary school. The ability to remain focused on a task or goal. Ensure they are focussed on devoting their life to your success. Don't think you can have a childhood, education, youth, job or anything other than modelling. If you do, you already missed the boat.

Fashion models often dedicate themselves to their careers, which means they may work hard to maintain their appearance and stay in shape. They also dedicate themselves to learning about fashion trends so they can model new styles effectively.

(Tell your parents to) Have Discipline

The ability to maintain self-control and follow rules is important for models to keep a career. They and their parents must be able to adhere to strict schedules, arrive on time for shoots and abide by their agency’s policies.

Discipline also helps models stay focused during long photo shoots or runway shows when they may have to stand still for extended periods of time. Discipline can help models develop healthy habits that can improve their overall health and well-being. You have to start early, as a child, for any chance of making it (realistically). All models, actors, musicians you see that have 'made it' have been pushed into it by their parents, most of whom are in the industry themselves behind the camera.

Paris Fashion week

Wlecome back to the TS Studios blog. TS Studios is a fashion photography studio. We are based in London, Manchester and Birmingham. We also have studios in Camden. Here is a run down of the latest fashion news, for all aspiring models. 

Emily Adams Bode Aujla marked her return to Paris Fashion Week with the launch of her womenswear collection. Paris Men’s Fashion Week runs from Jan. 17 to Jan. 22. Designers and brands on this season’s schedule include Givenchy, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens and Paul Smith. All this season’s runway shows and presentations are in-person.

Bode Aujla’s mother Janet, and her memories of the Crane estate inspired the coed lineup that the designer unveiled on the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet, marking her return to Paris Fashion Week after a three-year absence and the launch of her womenswear line.

Family heirlooms, of the textile variety, were faithfully copied in versions for women and men.

“They’re my most prized possessions,” Bode said in a preview, pulling a knit top off a rack. “This is my grandmother’s sweater that my mom wore throughout college, and then I have it, and so we did a historical reproduction of the kind of embroidery that was on it.”

The collection traversed decades, from a ringmaster coat with Edwardian-inspired braiding details to beaded flapper dresses and Woodstock-era fringed suede jackets.

The men’s looks were rooted in everyday dressing, with garments that promise to become as well-worn as the vintage pieces that inspired them, including corduroy suits, Fair Isle sweaters, patchwork coats and cardigans sprinkled with rhinestones. 

For women, Bode went dressier with outfits that ranged from a 1940s-inspired scarlet velvet evening gown to a novelty Christmas tree dress — complete with matching pointy hat. Women already account for half the brand’s customers, despite the absence of dedicated options. 

Bode Aujla’s skill lies in making her vintage-inspired pieces feel as covetable as thrift store finds. With their sparkly trims or naive details, her nostalgic cardigans were especially charming and will no doubt be treasured for generations to come. 

Ortega arrived at the Saint Laurent menswear fall 2023 runway show during Paris Men’s Fashion Week on Tuesday, wearing a creative minimalist ensemble.

In honor of the unveiling of Saint Laurent’s latest menswear offerings, the actress wore a floor-length backless hooded black dress from the brand. She accessorized with stacks of bangles on both of her arms.

To create her look for the runway show, Ortega worked with stylist Enrique Melendez. Melendez also styled Ortega for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, where she donned a Grecian-inspired Gucci cutout dress.

For makeup, Ortega went for a comparatively minimalist look with a hint of blush on her cheeks, a matte lip, black eyeliner and mascara. Her bangs were slicked down to one side across her forehead.

2022 became a ground-breaking year for the actress’ career. Ortega was critically acclaimed for her performance in the hit Netflix series “Wednesday” as the titular character. The series is based on the famed characters of the Addams Family franchise.

“Wednesday” became the second most-watched English-language Netflix series in the streaming service’s history within three weeks of its release. At this year’s Golden Globe Awards, the show was nominated for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Ortega was also nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

Male models are categorized by their height and measurements, and are typically around six feet tall and slim.

Promotional models hired by brands to market their products and services, commonly known as influencers, to promote their products and services to their target audiences. If you love to be the centre of attention, then this could be right for you. 

Catalog models hired by Companies, for a more flexible appearance. Catalogs typically feature models who look like everyday people, rather than runway-ready supermodels. This type of commercial modeling includes mainstream retail clothing, and products that are more accessible to general consumers.
